Hello
I’m so happy to be back in Portland after spending the last 30 years away! It feels even more special to be teaching at a beautiful Pilates studio on Willamette Park — a bright, welcoming space with amazing light, great equipment, and an atmosphere that makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. I’d love to see you in class soon, and I’m always happy to answer questions, so feel free to reach out anytime.
My Story
I’ve been teaching Pilates for over 30 years, helping people build strength, awareness, and a deeper connection to their bodies.
My journey began while studying Dance at the California Institute of the Arts, where I was first introduced to classical mat Pilates. I was immediately drawn to its precision and repetition—it felt like a reset for both my body and mind.
After graduating, I moved to Philadelphia to dance professionally, where the physical demands of performance led me back to Pilates in a more meaningful way. I was fortunate to apprentice under master teacher Karen Carlson, whose approach expanded my understanding beyond choreography into a system that helps people move better, feel better, and live with less pain.
Over time, my teaching evolved to blend classical Pilates with influences from Franklin Method, Feldenkrais, yoga and therapeutic body work. While working with Performing Arts Physical Therapy at The Pennsylvania Ballet, I saw firsthand how powerful Pilates can be in a rehabilitative setting. I later completed certification with Romana Kryzanowska, deepening my connection to the classical method.
After a decade of teaching, I opened my own studio, Angler Movement Arts Center, where I built a vibrant community offering Pilates, dance, movement education for all ages and a performance venue.
During the pandemic I expanded my yoga practice through a teacher training with Laura Hymen and her LYT method. This alignment based approach is a great compliment to Pilates.
Now, I’m returning to my hometown and excited to bring everything I’ve learned to a new community. My goal is to help each client develop strength, awareness, and confidence in their body—whether they are new to Pilates or have been practicing for years.
I look forward to welcoming you into the studio.
